In terms of new product categories, it has been a rather dull year. When it comes to product updates, it's been a very good year. The MacBooks have had a substantial increase in battery life. Today's MacBook Air can last as long as yesterday's iPad. Speaking of iPads, the iPad Air has taken the tablet category to the pinnacle of what it should be. But what about the iPhone: the flagship of Apple's fleet?

Considering the iPad Pro

From the moment Apple announced the iPad Air, I have been anticipating the iPad Pro. From a marketing perspective, it seem unlikely that there would be an air without a pro, or at least, a standard model. The MacBook Air is so named, in part, to differentiate it from the MacBook Pro. The MacBook Air took over the spot that was formerly held by the MacBook, no suffix. My point is that the MacBook Air is not a product that lives in a vacuum.
